Summary af Mette Hansen

The movie “The imitation game” is directed by Morten Tyldum in 2014. The movie takes place during World War 2. The British military and five mathematicians are trying to break the Germans enigma code to end the war.
The mathematician, Alan Turing is really difficult to work with and he believes that he is the only one who can break the code. Alan works for Denniston from the military and he refuses to give Alan money to build the machine. When Alan writes to the prime minister he puts him in charge of the team.
Alan invents the machine that is supposed to break the enigma code but it does not work and Dennistion wants to fire him. The other mathematicians are backing him up even though they do not like Alan’s idea about the machine. They get another month to fix the machine or else they get fired.
Alan gets a revelation about the machine. He can decode the words he already know from other letters.
They realize that they cannot act on the messages from the Germans because then they will know that the enigma code is broken.
Alan and the mathematician Joan decides to get engaged even though Alan is secretly homosexual which is illegal in England. He gets convicted for being homosexual and he gets a choice between jail for two years or hormone treatment until he is cured.  After being treated for one year he commits suicide.
